A dual dream Part One - late February 2004
I was back in Regina.
I was driving around in my black Acura.
Except the Acura was a convertible.
I knew I needed a new car.
I drove down to the library.
The library was actually converted into a car dealership.
I parked behind the library.
When I stepped out of the car, I realized that my Acura convertible was also smaller than in real life.
I walked up the steps into the car dealership.
In the showroom I was looking around.
I saw a similar convertible.
It was red.
I recall it was an American model (don't ask me how).
The dealer came up to me.
He wrote down a figure...$50 a month for payments.
I remember that I started to have second thoughts.
"That doesn't look right", I remember saying to myself. I asked the dealer if there was a catch.
The dealer said there wasn't. I decided not to buy the car.
I told the dealer that I'll think about it, but I'm not ready to buy it today.
I felt convinced that I would buy it anyway, just not today.
I went back into my small black Acura convertible.
I drove away, looking back thinking that I definitely needed a new car.
